Diwali is the festival of lights celebrated in India. The Hindu holiday originated from the mythological story of Lord Rama returning to his kingdom from his 14 year exile in the forest. Though the significance is rooted in history, the message if very relevant to our everyday lives.
be the light and share joy
This sounds a little clichè but it’s something that is so powerful to channel everyday. It’s natural to get stressed with responsibilities of everyday life and anxiety usually comes with negative thoughts. Be kind and acknowledge your feelings. The power to overcome them is within you. Life is too short for bad feelings (or bad food).
On Diwali, people give sweets and share positive vibes with their loved ones, taking cards and gifts to their neighbors and sending them around the world. You don’t have to have a large family or huge community, the point is to celebrate with the people around you and the ones that you love. We were lucky enough to spend some quality time with our family. Here's what they have to say about Diwali :)
